Superfoods Smoothie
Total time: 5 minutes
Yield: 3 servings of 1 and 1/3 cups
Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 handful (1/2 cup) fresh or frozen spinach
1 orange
Notes: Sadly most nutritionists say there is no such thing as a super food. A wide diversity of healthy, whole foods with everything in moderation seems to be the best diet. Nonetheless, the five nutrient-dense ingredients in this smoothie (spinach, blueberries, oranges, milk, and non-fat yogurt) are part of a well-balanced, heart-healthy diet. I swear you can't taste the spinach but if you're worried about it, leave it out or just put a couple of leaves in and blend it really well.
Optional Ingredients:
4 ice cubes
1 TB coconut milk
1 tsp vanilla
1 orange
1 banana
1/2 cup plain nonfat yogurt
1 handful (1/2 cup) fresh or frozen fruit such as strawberries, peaches, raspberries
