Raisin Nut Nibble
1 cup water
2 cup raisins
2 cup sugar
1 cup butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 eggs
4 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon soda
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 cup nuts (I used pecans and sliced almonds but Mary Lynn said she likely used walnuts as her brother Bill would send them to her from his trees.)
1. Boil water and raisins for 5 minutes. (Or you can microwave them with a wet paper towel, Great Grandma did not have a microwave at the time of this recipe).
2. Cream sugar, butter, vanilla, & eggs in a large bowl.
3. In a separate bowl, sift flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg.
4. Drain raisins if necessary.
5. Gradually add the flour mixture in and add the nuts and raisins. Drop in small spoonfuls on a greased pan and bake at 350 F for 10-12 minutes depending on size.
