Sweet and Sour Pork Chops


Total time: 90 minutes Active time: 45 minutes

Serves: 6

Ingredients:
6 pork chops
salt; to taste
ground pepper; to taste
garlic salt; to taste
1 onion
1 green or red bell pepper
1 medium carrot
1/2 cup water
1/3 cup white vinegar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 cup pineapple
2 tsp soy sauce
1 TB cornstarch
1 cup pineapple juice

Instructions:

1. Brown chops on each side in large skillet. Season with salt, pepper and garlic salt. Remove from skillet. 

2. Sauté onion, green pepper, carrot and 1/4 tsp. salt for 5 minutes. Remove from skillet.

3. Add pork chops and remaining ingredients except cornstarch and pineapple juice. Simmer for 45 min. Stir in cornstarch thinned with pineapple juice and return the veggies to the skillet. Heat until liquid is thickened.
