Toffee Bars

 


Total Time: 25 minutes


Ingredients:

1 box graham crackers

2 sticks butter (1 cup)

1/2 cup sugar (or brown sugar)

1/2 cup sliced almonds or finely chopped pecans.


Instructions:

1. Break the graham crackers into the smallest size and arrange tightly together on a sheet pan lined with aluminum foil.

2. Melt the butter and sugar in a medium saucepan. Boil for 2 minutes. Add the nuts and stir briefly.

3. Pour the nut mixture onto the graham crackers while still hot. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until light golden brown. Cut with a knife into small pieces while still warm.

Notes: Always buy the name brand of graham crackers. The generic ones don't taste as good. Some people call this Christmas Crack because it is highly addictive! Some people use saltine crackers instead of graham crackers.
